OAKLAND, Calif., February 28, 2018 — Today Olympic Gold Medalist, Children’s author, and philanthropist Kristi Yamaguchi announced that she will serve as a featured author on BookNook, a new technology platform that helps children overcome difficulties in learning to read.

“My goal with children’s books, such as “Dream Pig, Little Pig” is to support kids in dreaming big and achieving those dreams, no matter what challenges they face. Partnering with BookNook is a perfect way to both share that message and to help students build a love of reading and become confident readers,” said Yamaguchi.

“We’re so excited to be working with an inspiring figure like Kristi,” said Michael Lombardo, Founder and CEO of BookNook. “I hope our students will catch the Olympic spirit and give their all as readers.”

Through BookNook’s network of partner schools and nonprofits spanning 14 states, Yamaguchi’s work will reach an estimated 50,000 children in the first year alone.
