Celebrating Our Educators: A Nationwide Salute to Teachers

To the teachers who have helped me grow, and to those who guide and inspire learners all across the world, you are so appreciated!!

I have been most impacted by a teacher I worked with for 13 years.  She was a little out of the box, but here is what was so very special about her.  She taught me that kids are individuals.  That kids do not fit into our cookie-cutter molds of teaching.  That kids have their own stories, both personal and academic, that shape their everyday comings and goings.  She taught me that to be able to effectively teach kids, you have to absolutely love what you do.  Thank you, Karen!  And thank you to all the teachers out in the world who put their hearts into their jobs as teachers.

Where would any of us be without teachers? They sustain our minds, foster our curiosity, and work hard to keep us on a good life path. I am indebted to every teacher I've encountered, even the ones I didn't like so much. And they teach more than their subjects at hand. They teach us about ourselves. They're invaluable. To all of my teachers, especially Mrs. Smith (high-school world literature class), thank you!

I’ve been blessed to have amazing educators for all three of my kids through elementary, middle, high school, and college. The time educators have taken to be interested in them and care about their opinions, allowing them to creatively solve problems, has been invaluable. You believed in them when they didn’t believe in themselves. You are helping create amazing people we can all be proud of. Students with confidence in themselves and students who value themselves. Teachers, you do it all. You are amazing.

From early mornings to late nights, from lesson planning to grading, from comforting hugs to encouraging smiles, your love for teaching knows no bounds. You pour your heart and soul into your work, which does not go unnoticed.

So, here's to you, our remarkable teachers! Thank you for your boundless energy, contagious enthusiasm, and unwavering belief in every student's potential. You truly make a difference, not just in the classroom, but in the lives you touch and the futures you shape.

This Teacher Appreciation Week, I'd like to express my sincerest gratitude and reverence for the work that teachers across our country do every single day. Teachers have so many roles and are integral in not only the development of our students instructionally - but also in the development of skills and confidence to navigate our world successfully. Thank you all for being the exceptional leaders that you are - we appreciate you!

Teachers are heroes, sages, champions, luminaries, LEGENDS. There's not enough gratitude in the world to account for all they do, have done, and will do. Say it again, say it louder: Thank you!

During Teacher Appreciation Week, I can't help but reminisce about the excellent teachers in my hometown.
